The ORION Workshop was held January 4-8, 2004, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to formulate the science priorities and educational opportunities that can be addressed using ocean observatories. The workshop was sponsored by National Science Foundation, USA, and Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, Canada. The workshop report was sponsored by the National Science Foundation through an award to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research Joint Office for Science Support.
