In May 2005, an international, interdisciplinary team of scientists conducted a detailed survey of the seafloor in the vicinity of the epicenter of the Great Sumatra earthquake of December 26, 2004. The survey was named the Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami Offshore Survey (SEATOS). This cruise report includes seven site/transect chapters that detail the findings of the SEATOS cruise, and a separate chapter describing the methods used to collect, analyze, and model the data.

For more details on this project, visit the SEATOS web site. Support for this project is being provided by the Fondation les Treilles through a contract with the University of Rhode Island.

Editing and design of the report and a supporting web site by Geo Prose.
